As of Saturday Seven out of 12 Districts in Siem Reap Have Been Plunged into Lockdown

Siem Reap: Seven communes in Siem Reap have been put into almost total lockdown to prevent the spread of Covid-19. The provincial administration has named Slor Kram, Svay Dongkum, Koak Chork, Chreav, Sala Komreuk, Sragnae, and Teuk Vil as “red zones” for one week.

Among the province’s 12 districts, seven have been badly affected and are under lockdown either entirely, like Slor Kram which is totally locked down, while others are under partial lockdown. The specific areas that were labeled as “red zones” are villages on Sangkat Svay Dongkum commune,Taphul , Mondul 1 , Svay Dongkum , Stung Thmey , and Krous. Four more villages Trapeang Ses , Nokor Krao, South Taksin and Veal villages on Koak Chork , Khnar village on Chreav, Ta Vien village of sangkat Sala Komreuk. Another two villages in Sangkat Sragnae , Prey Thom and Sragnae. As well as sangkat Teuk Vil’s Sandan village.

The Covid-19 Delta variant cases in Siem Reap, have now surged to more than 350 cases, as of September 24. The Province has seen no decline in cases despite efforts to control the spread of the virus.
